Gday All

This month saw us play the second round of our club championship at Caloundra Golf Club.

The day was generously sponsored by Lynne and Gary Wroe and Ty Herberts, who provide lots of great prizes! Thanks heaps guys!

The course was in pretty good condition, with a few dry spots that provided some tight lies. We played a single stableford, and judging by a couple of the scores, golf was the winner, though a select few broke par, and will be dealt with accordingly! The only exception will be young Jim (Troy’s guest), playing off 7 and was putting for birdie on the last hole to square the card! He parred the hole for one over and won the day on a countback with 42 points! Bob Kinsella scored 42 points as well, but was unlucky to double bogey the last….he did win something though……an invitation to B grade! Bob Hastie was 3rd with a not too shabby 41 points, and Kev Parker was 4th with 39 points.

Longest drive was on the 14th hole and quite a few names made it onto the markers, but the winners were

A grade – Steve Davis

B grade – Dave Mason

C grade – Lyn Wallace

Nearest the pins were –

2nd   A grade -  Herb Marschall       B grade – Jamie Wroe          C grade – Lyn Wallace

6th    A grade – Carl Marschall        B grade – Ty Herberts          C grade – Bob Hastie

9th    A grade – Jim                            B grade – Kev Parker           C grade – Dave White

11th  A grade – Carl Marschall        B grade – Jade Wroe                        C grade – Charles Clancey

The Money Hole was the 15th and was taken by Graham Davis.

Well done and congratulations to all of the above!

As ugly as it is, it was good to see the Sizzler’s face, and I’m glad he didn’t play, not only because he has a beautiful swing, but mainly because he’s on doctor’s orders to not exert himself while he’s waiting for heart surgery, and if he did play, and dropped on us, I didn’t want to be the one to give him mouth to mouth! Wish you all the best mate, and I’m sure you’ll be back next year!

Next month we have our final game of the year at Headland Golf Club on the 18th of December at 8 am, with a presentation and lunch at Kawana Waters Hotel afterwards. All green fees and carts will be paid for by the club, and it will be a fun day sponsored by Jason and Greer Lane, so let me know asap if you will be there, so we can book the tees, carts and meals. Partners are welcome for lunch, but will have to pay for their meal.

Hope to see you all next month, and in the words of Despa…. HASTA LAVISTA HOMBRES !!!!

Another sunny day in Gods own country – it actually got quite warm towards the last few holes.

The course was in traditionally good nick and provided the usual challenges (for some)
